Plastic trash – it’s not all at sea (CSIRO)

CSIRO Land and Water

What I did

I was commissioned to write a story about CSIRO’s study of debris along Australia’s coastline.

I read the background material supplied, and interviewed marine ecologist Dr Denise Hardesty, who led the study.

I then drafted the story and gained the scientist’s approval before submitting the final copy, including the headline and teaser.

The story was published as submitted in ECOS, CSIRO’s sustainability blog, in May 2019.

Plastic trash – it’s not all at sea

While the plastic trash swirling around in our oceans gets most of the attention, new evidence shows that the solutions lie along our shoreline.
