What I did
I spent 4 months at QAGOMA in 2017 as a member of the publications team.
I edited didactics and object labels for the following 2017 exhibitions:
- ‘Marvel: Creating the Cinematic Universe’
- ‘Australian Art’
- ‘Sung into Being: Aboriginal Masterworks from the Janet Holmes a Court Collection’
- ‘Limitless Horizon: Vertical Perspective’.
I edited digital content for about 70 works from the gallery’s Australian collection for a new exhibition.
Google Arts & Culture: I repurposed and optimised wall text written by curators for collection works exhibited in The 8th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (APT8) to make it suitable for this virtual exhibition. This was the gallery’s initial foray into Google Arts. See:
- Patachitra: Scroll paintings from the Chitrakar community (India)
- Kalighat Painting by Kalam Patua (India).
I copyedited the ‘Biography’ and ‘Catalogue of works’ (67) for the hardcover exhibition catalogue: Gerhard Richter: The Life of Images. I also created an editorial style sheet for the catalogue.

I copyedited the QAGOMA annual report 2016/17.
I copyedited 4 feature stories for the gallery’s quarterly Artlines magazine (issue 3, 2017).
For each of the above editing projects, I updated the gallery’s editorial style guide with style decisions.
I also researched how cultural institutions globally are publishing books online, and I recorded new/changed copyright/permissions information for artists /art works.
