Improving livelihoods in conflict-vulnerable areas of the Philippines

What I did

I worked closely with the author, Noel Vock, to copyedit and proofread the 172-page book, The Facts of LIFE: An Introduction to a new model of agricultural extension for conflict-vulnerable areas of the Philippines, published by ACIAR.

The Livelihood Improvement through Facilitated Extension (LIFE) model is the culmination of 8 years of collaboration between ACIAR and the Philippines government.

Editorial compliance with ACIAR style (style sheet supplied), the latest Australian Government Style Manual and the Macquarie Dictionary was required.

I understood that English is unlikely to be the first language for most readers of the book and, therefore, clarity of expression was crucial for its success on the ground, not just in the Philippines but in other countries where the LIFE model may be adopted in the future.

The book was published in 2021 by ACIAR (Monograph MN213).

I also wrote alt-text for the 135 images included in the book.
